| HI! |
It’s been a very busy month for Mr. Alex. He began crawling
full speed ahead on July 28th. He was very proud of his progress (as
were mommy and daddy). The same day the decision was made to move his bed lower
now that he is crawling and soon to be pulling up.

The first week of August Alex got a special visit from
Cousin Logan from New York. She stayed with us from Tuesday until Sunday. They had a
great time together. On Thursday afternoon, Alex decided he had enough of just
crawling and started pulling up. It was amazing to see his face the first time
he did it. The joy and pride in his eyes was enough to make this mommy cry. On
Friday, Logan’s parents arrived and stayed with my parents. Alex loved visiting
with his Great Uncle Steve and Great Aunt Lisa, and I think they felt the same
way about him!

The next weekend Alex had two firsts! He stood on his own
for the first time on Saturday. The three of us were visiting with Lonnie’s
parents for his mom’s birthday when Alex suddenly pulled up on the foot stool
and let go. He stood for two seconds before he realized that he was standing on
his own and then fell into Nana’s waiting arms. From the way she reacted, I’m
sure Nana loved her birthday gift from Alex. Then on Sunday he had his first
week in the crawlers’ class at church. His new teachers love him just as much
as his last teachers did and he got glowing marks on his first day. They said
he was a very adventurous little boy who just kept going…even when he fell
down!
Alex turned 8 months old on August 22nd. Nana and
Papa bought him a Sit-to-Stand Activity Walker to celebrate the day. Needless
to say, it was love at first sight for our little man who now plays on it every
day. We took the brake off for him to walk with it once, but he wasn’t so sure
about walking without mommy or daddy’s help, so we put the brake back on.

On Friday, August 31st, Alex had his first
sleepover away from home. That afternoon Nana and Papa picked him up from
school and he got to stay with them until I went and got him on Saturday
morning. Everyone had a great time, even Lonnie and I—who had a great
date-night in! The next morning when I
went to pick him up, Nana and Papa didn’t even want him to go. They said he was
a perfect angel and even slept 12 hours straight. That’s even better than at
home, where he usually sleeps about 10! :)

In addition to other marvelous wonders like sleeping through the night, he is now constantly pulling up on everything and trying his hardest
to walk. His loves include dancing with mommy, applesauce, and of course, Eric the Caterpillar. He is beginning the process of learning to feed himself and has added a few words to his vocabulary--such as good, dada, and papa (we're still working on mama!). He is a very happy baby who fills our days (and everyone he knows)
with more joy and laughter than we could imagine. We continue to marvel at the
amazing blessing the Lord has placed in our lives. We are so proud to be his
parents and feel so honored that the Lord chose Alex to be our son!
What a handsome little guy you have! I found you through the blog hop and will definitely be back. That activity walker looks like the bomb!
ReplyDeleteThanks. :)
DeleteI can just feel the love you have for that precious baby in every word of your blog! He is such a sweet, smiley boy and I really think your next date night should include Aunt Becky coming over to play with him while you go out!! That would make my day complete I'm quite certain!!
